As you visit Santorini, your guide will share interesting stories and fascinating facts about Santorini’s history. Along the tour, you will see all the most iconic sights of the southern part of Santorini, including Prophet Elias, Pyrgos, Megalochori, Akrotiri, Emporio, the red and black beaches, as well the Venetsanos Winery.
Visit Prophet Elias, which is the highest mountain at 2,000 feet above sea level. Your guide will take you inside the Greek Christian monastery at the summit of the mountain.
Another place to explore is Pyrgos. This is the old capital city featuring Venetian castle ruins.
Other villages you will visit on your tour include Megalochori with its narrow streets, Firostefani with the Blue Dome Church, and Emporio, the island’s largest village with windmills, the ruins of Kasteli and Goulas, and a Byzantine fortress.
Akrotiri is the site of an old civilization preserved by volcanic ash. Many claim this city is the mythical city of Atlantis. Take in the buildings, the drainage system, and the different points that prove this city was prosperous and grand in its time.
